INTRAMURALS

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
When:  Tuesdays @ Lunch
Where:  Library Office
What:
Everyone is welcome to join us for lunch where we have a lot of laughs and sometimes get around to talking about the books on the list.
No one has to read all of the books, but it's nice if they read at least one.
High School Battle of the Books is quite different from the Elementary one: way more fun,
far more creative, and a little less competitive... but still a good spark to keep a student going!

VIP CLUB - THE VALLEYVIEW INCLUSIVITY PROGRAM

When:  Wednesday's @ Lunch
Where:  Room 120 - Ms. Yamaoka's Class
What:
Have you ever felt out of place, witnessed or experienced inequality at our school and wanted to meet some dynamic and exciting people?
The Valleyview Inclusivity Club run by Mrs. Yamaoka promotes positive change in our school.
The VIP Club promotes a school culture that is meaningful, inclusive and sustainable while fostering respect and belonging for all students.
Through running fun activities school-wide, weekly meetings and engaging conversations the VIP Club is dedicated to creating
positive change and furthering a culture of inclusivity at Valleyview.
It’s a great place to make new friends. Hope to see you there!

ENVIRONMENT STRIKES BACK
When:  Fridays @ Lunch
Where:  Library Office
What:
We would LOVE to have more students join us as we work on bigger projects like lobbying the City to improve bussing,
running events like the Clothing Swap, and educating the school through things like announcements and our bulletin board.
This is a place where everyone is welcome!  And where everyone has a chance to create change together!

EMPOWER HER PROGRAM
When:  Tuesdays @ 3p
Where:  West Gym with Ms. Salituro
What:
The aim is to help teenage girls be physically active throughout their lives, creating unforgettable experiences for them,
and building a community of inspirational, committed individuals.
Each week students participate in physical activities decided upon by the group.
From time to time, students will be bussed to and from local gyms, fitness studios, and/or city facilities.
The rationale behind these field trips is to expose students to a variety of activities and to hopefully connect them to an activity of interest.

CHESS CLUB

Where:  Room 134- Mr. Haffenden's Class

They frequently raise money through bake sales and plan the VSS Carnival.

DEBATE CLUB
When:  Monday @ Lunch and Thursday @ 3p
Where:  Room 132 - Ms. Graham's Class
